Start a Minneapolis-wide Rental Door Knocking Program
There are 190 rental communities in Minneapolis with at least 100 units. That represents over 34,000 apartments.
Collaborate with the Minnesota DFL Coordinated Campaign to door knock and leave literature at those doors, having deep conversations with residents.
Use digital organizing tools like Mobilize and peer-to-peer texting to recruit volunteers and drive the field program.
Strongly encourage pre-registration to ease the burden at Precinct Caucus and have more accurate data
Several Senate Districts tried this in 2024, with some success. If we have a data sharing agreement with campaigns, then that would be an incentive to drive supporters to sign up in advance, making check-in quicker.
Minneapolis DFL should own our own data. The experience this year with Action Builder and the state party should not be repeated next year.
Convene Precinct Caucus in early April and start the DFL Convention season after Passover
Candidate filings for City offices is not until August 2025, so we are able to wait until warmer weather.
Because this is a City year, we are not required to have precinct caucuses on a Tuesday. Conrad would propose to have precinct caucuses on a Saturday at noon, either April 5 or April 12.
The time of Passover allows more time to compile data and get ready for the DFL Convention season.
